Meet Your Teacher
Dr. Siegel is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine and the founding co-director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA. He is also the Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute which focuses on the development of mindsight, teaches insight, empathy, and integration in individuals, families and communities.
Dr. Siegel has published extensively for both professional and lay audiences. His five New York Times bestsellers are: Aware: The Science and Practice of Presence, Mind: A Journey to the Heart of Being Human, Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain, and two books with Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D: The Whole-Brain Child, and No-Drama Discipline. His other books include: The Developing Mind, The Pocket Guide to Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindsight, The Mindful Brain, and The Mindful Therapist. He has also written The Yes Brain and The Power of Showing Up with Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D. Additionally, Dr. Siegel serves as the Founding Editor for the Norton Professional Series on Interpersonal Neurobiology which currently contains over seventy textbooks.

No, there is no additional charge to receive CE Credits. To obtain your CE Credits and Certificate, please email the Mindsight Institute Team at [email protected] to request an exam (you can take an exam after completion of each segment or at the end of the entire course – that is up to you). Once your exam is graded and processed, a digital CE Credit Certificate will be emailed to you.
Absolutely. Once you have completed the course, just email the Mindsight Team at [email protected] and a Certificate of Completion will be processed and a digital copy will be emailed to you.
Dr. Siegel is well-known for his ability to make complex scientific concepts accessible, and provides plenty of detailed applications to our work and personal lives. Rest assured that prerequisites and/or a science background are not required in order to benefit from this course.
Once you enroll in the class, you will receive details from the Mindsight Institute via email regarding access to your courses and the online learning community. These emails will be sent prior to the opening of the first day of the class.
We will be rolling out each segment in the corresponding month. You will receive access to the first segment prior to the first day of the course being live and open, and then the next segment will be made available to you in the following month, and so on…
This is a self-paced program and you will be able to learn at your convenience during each segment. You are also encouraged to take part in study groups within the online learning community, and to join the live, monthly Q & A sessions with Dan to ask questions and discuss material suggested in the corresponding course sequence.

Not a problem! We will record each live Q&A for viewing by course participants at any other time convenient to their schedule.
The course itself contains 36 total hours of video content and each segment will be rolled out in its corresponding month during this 6-month course. Ultimately, this is a self-paced program and you will be able to learn at your convenience. In other words, there are no limits on how or when you digest the information. Even if you are interested in CEUs, you can take exams as your schedule allows.
The only dedicated times we have scheduled are for the live Q & A sessions and even those are recorded and archived for future viewing.
You will be able to take in the course content whenever convenient in your schedule. Also the Q & A sessions will be offered live monthly, and recorded, so you will be able to listen at your convenience. Finally, our global, online community will be available to you anytime for discussion with other students.
The course is a self-paced program that does not require live attendance. The only times that we have scheduled are for the live Q & A sessions and we have done our best to accommodate our students from around the globe. Our current course has participants from over 20 countries. Also, we will record each session so you can view it at your convenience.
In addition, we would encourage you to keep in contact with other students and our team here at the Mindsight Institute via the online learning community. This will be a great resource for you and will offer you the opportunity to exchange ideas with other students, and even submit questions for Dr. Siegel if you cannot make any of the live Q & As.

The online community will be a gathering place for additional learning and sharing and will be made up of your peers who are also registered for the class. This will also be the location where all notices, reminders, and more information will be shared from the Mindsight Institute and Dr. Siegel.
