  1. Recognize how attachment research reveals that a parent’s self-understanding is the best predictor of a child’s attachment.
  2. Identify four categories of child attachment.
  3. Summarize how patterns of communication shape the child’s pattern of attachment.
  4. Recognize how the parent’s own self-understanding as revealed in the adult attachment interview is correlated with the child’s attachment.
  5. Identify the patterns of how recalling the past may be influenced by relationships with parents.
  6. Observe one’s own emotional response to closeness and recognize feelings of openness to connecting with others.
  7. Recognize ruptures in communication.
  8. Identify steps to repairing a rupture.
  9. Summarize how reflective dialogues can be created to cultivate the development of mindsight.
  10. Identify the ways in which self-understanding within the parent can lead to secure attachment in the child.

Upon verification that you have passed the program's CE test with a score of 80% or higher, your CE certificate will be emailed to you within ten business days. If you require CE credit on an urgent basis, please let us know. Courses offering CE credit are approved by the APA, CAMFT, and IMQ/CMA.
